September Festival Workshops

St Ives September Festival 2018


The St Ives September Festival is an annual event showcasing a range of events including music, talks, workshops, films, theatre, plays, stories, poetry, exhibitions open studios, comedy in venues as diverse as St Ives Guildhall, the library, St Ia Church and many more.

During this festival I run two workshops in St Ives library and this year they will be on the two Wednesdays as follows:

Wednesday 12th September - Dyeing with Indigo


During this workshop as well as having the opportunity to dye fabric with Indigo you will also learn some Japanese tie-dye techniques (Shibori) to create different patterns with the indigo.
This workshop is from 2 - 5 p.m. and costs £15 inc. materials.

Wednesday 19th September - Papermaking



This workshop will give you the opportunity to make two different types of paper.  The first involves recycling used paper to make new sheets of paper, you will make both plain paper and paper with inclusions such as petals, glitter etc.  The second will show you how to transform silk fibres into lustrous colourful sheets of paper.

This workshop is from 2 - 5 p.m. and costs £15 inc. materials.
